POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Director of Facilities Management
LOCATION: Facilities Management Department
REPORTS TO: Superintendent / Asst. Superintendent of HR
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Facilities Department. Oversees daily operations to ensure the provision of safe, reliable, and efficient facility maintenance services. Duties include hiring/supervising/evaluating facilities management staff; overseed new and remodel construction; developing and monitoring the department budget, capital reserve and inventory; preparing and maintaining required reports; provides oversight and direction to building custodial staff process and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all aspects of facilities and grounds – developing an effective and efficient preventative maintenance plan.
- Monitors and manages the improvement, upgrade, and replacement of building systems.
- Monitors and manages all capital construction projects throughout the district.
- Recruits and recommend for employment Facilities personnel; supervises and evaluates staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safe, efficient, and cost-effective facilities and grounds management based on changing needs.
- Evaluate and assist with the resolution of all day-to-day problems, questions, and complaints regarding facilities and grounds.
- Develop and monitor department budgets.
- Keeps informed and monitors compliance with all laws and regulations concerning school district facility compliance.
- Controls and guides acquisition of replacement parts and facility supplies.
- Anticipate future needs and develop specifications for vehicle and equipment purchases.
- Develop orientation and training for employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
