The District Support Center is seeking applications for Substitute Teacher Assistants.

 
Job Summary

The teacher assistant works directly with students ages Pre-K - 12th Grade. Assists in classrooms providing educational opportunity for students while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment conducive to learning.  Reinforces curriculum, activities, and/or skills with small groups of students or one-on-one and collaborates with teachers to implement lesson plans and to meet the individual needs of students.  Supervises students in various school locations and activities.  Supervises student behavior and safety, and implements discipline and emergency procedures as needed.  May assist teachers with clerical and organizational duties.

 

The eligible candidate must have an Associate Degree or at least 24 credit hours at an institution of higher learning or passed the WorkKeys tests in reading, writing and math.  (Please provide proof of one of the aforementioned when applying.)
